About The Position

The Senior Business Systems Analyst serves as a strategic partner between business stakeholders and technology teams, leading the analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of business systems and processes. This role is responsible for gathering and translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions, driving process improvements, and supporting enterprise initiatives that enhance efficiency, user experience, and organizational performance. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, experience managing cross-functional projects, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels while ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology solutions.

Requirements

Experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements.
Strong understanding of business process analysis and system implementations.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.
Experience supporting enterprise systems such as CRM, ERP, HRIS, or Finance platforms.
Knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools.
Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar tools.
Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or equivalent.
Experience leading large-scale business transformation initiatives.
Customer Focused - Knowledgeable of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and able to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.
Managing Risk - Assessing and effectively managing all of the risks associated with their business objectives and activities to ensure they adhere to and support PNC's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 2+ years of relevant professional experience. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
Lead requirements gathering sessions, workshops, and stakeholder interviews.
Document, analyze, prioritize, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
Develop process maps, workflows, use cases, user stories, and business requirements documentation.
Ensure requirements are clearly communicated to technical teams and aligned with business goals.
Evaluate current systems, processes, and data flows to identify improvement opportunities.
Recommend technology solutions that optimize business operations and support strategic objectives.
Collaborate with architects, developers, and vendors to design and implement system enhancements.
Assess impacts of proposed changes and develop implementation recommendations.
Support solution testing, validation, and deployment activities.
Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors.
Lead requirements activities across multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
Facilitate decision-making and issue resolution among diverse stakeholder groups.
Provide regular project status updates and communicate risks, dependencies, and recommendations.
Support change management and user adoption efforts.
Analyze data and business metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Create dashboards, reports, and business insights that support informed decision-making.
Ensure data integrity, consistency, and adherence to governance standards.
Develop recommendations based on analytical findings.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
Promote best practices in business analysis, requirements management, and system implementation.
Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the business analysis function.
Support enterprise transformation and digital modernization initiatives.
Participates in analyzing business requirements and production specifications for changes made to technology applications.
Formulates and defines the system scope and objectives, based on user needs and business processes.
Directs business process improvement projects for internal business groups, aiming to improve business results.
Identifies and documents all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes.
Provides recommendations for addressing and resolving business issues, for a specific business group.
