About The Position

The Sr. Business Systems Analyst supports the Controller's Office (CTO) at RIT by designing and implementing scalable solutions that enhance payroll and financial operations. Serving as a strategic bridge between business units and technical teams, the analyst translates operational needs into system requirements and identifies opportunities for process and system improvements. This role leads cross-functional initiatives, manages system configurations, and oversees testing and deployment of new features, ensuring alignment with change control protocols and data governance standards. Through data analysis and collaboration, the analyst drives operational efficiency, supports strategic planning, and ensures smooth integration of new technologies or upgrades. A strong focus on business process optimization and data-driven decision-making is central to the role's impact.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related business discipline
  • Five years of experience in Analyst/Business Analyst role supporting business technology platforms
  • OR
  • Combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience with business technology platforms will be considered
  • Experience with Workday financial applications or other ERP system
  • Flexible computer skills including the suite of Microsoft Office products, and modern collaboration tools such as Slack, OneNote, and Google Docs
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, MS in Project Management or technology-related discipline
  • Workday Payroll and Time Tracking module experience including configuration, testing and rollout of statutory and new code requirements
  • Experience with metrics, analytics or dashboards to drive a deeper understanding of payroll cycles and issues requiring escalation or outreach training
  • Experience with analyzing complex datasets using tools such as Excel or other available reporting platforms to support decision-making, monitor trends, and optimize workflows
  • Knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI, and/or other data visualization tools
  • Experience with SQL, R, Python, VBA, and/or other programming languages, strongly preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Project Management certification
