About The Position

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst, Finance is responsible for delivering trusted financial analytics, reporting, and insights in support of Technology Credit Union’s (Tech CU) Finance division. This role resides within the Data Management & Analytics (DMA) function and is matrixed to Finance, ensuring alignment between enterprise data standards and Finance specific decision support needs. This role partners closely with Finance leadership, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence (BI), and Information Technology to translate complex financial and operational data into reliable dashboards, analytics, and executive level reporting, while maintaining strong data governance, quality, and regulatory compliance. This role spans two clearly defined and complementary areas finance focused analytics and decision support (matrixed responsibility) and enterprise business intelligence responsibilities governed by DMA. This structure ensures deep Finance partnership while maintaining enterprise consistency, scalability, and governance.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or financial reporting within a regulated environment.
  • Advanced SQL and Excel skills.
  • Strong experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and data validation skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and executive level communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality outputs in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the primary business intelligence and analytics partner for the Finance organization.
  • Translates Finance business questions into analytical requirements, metrics, and reporting solutions.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains Finance dashboards, reports, and executive level summaries.
  • Performs trend, variance, and anomaly analysis related to financial performance and operations.
  • Defines Finance specific metrics, calculations, and analytical assumptions in partnership with Finance leadership.
  • Validates data accuracy, integrity, and completeness for Finance reporting and analytics.
  • Supports audit, regulatory, and executive reporting requests with well documented, reliable analyses.
  • Drives a culture of efficiency and innovation within the analytics team.
  • Aligns Finance analytics and reporting with enterprise BI architecture, standards, and best practices.
  • Partners with Data Engineering to ensure proper data sourcing, modeling, and transformation for Finance use cases.
  • Defines and documents source-to-target mappings, metric definitions, and calculation logic.
  • Promotes consistent data quality, governance, and metric standards across Finance BI.
  • Contributes Finance use cases to shared enterprise analytics and BI initiatives.
  • Ensures Finance BI solutions leverage approved enterprise tools and adhere to security and access standards.
  • Recognized as a thought leader in BI automation and process improvement.
