About The Position

The Senior Business Development Manager — Florida / Georgia expands regional business development activity across industrial, marine, and maritime-support markets. The role places particular emphasis on port facilities, shipyards, marine terminals, waterfront infrastructure, industrial plants, and adjacent logistics or energy assets. The position accelerates growth in industrial services and field solutions while building a strong presence in maritime support environments where facility maintenance, environmental services, emergency response, and specialized project execution are valued. This position grows strategic account relationships across Florida and Georgia in two connected arenas: industrial operations requiring recurring field support, and maritime customers such as shipyards, terminals, port operators, vessel-support contractors, and waterfront infrastructure owners. The role positions the company as the preferred specialty service partner for customers managing maintenance, repair, emergency response, environmental compliance, and project support in complex marine and industrial operating settings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Environmental Science, Marine/Maritime Studies, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in business development, account management, or strategic sales in industrial services, marine services, environmental services, shipyard support, terminal operations support, logistics infrastructure, or a related technical service sector.
  • Demonstrated success developing business with ports, terminals, shipyards, marine contractors, industrial facilities, utilities, transportation infrastructure operators, or related asset-intensive clients.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM (opportunity management, pipeline reporting, account mapping, activity logging) required.
  • Working knowledge of additional sales and industrial-services platforms, including PecWeb (plant and equipment contractor management), HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP Sales Cloud, Fieldglass (VMS/contractor management), MarineLink or equivalent maritime industry tools, Procore (project tracking), or related B2B sales platforms used in industrial or maritime markets.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance-driven buying cycles, safety-sensitive operating environments, and customer requirements tied to rapid mobilization, planned work windows, and compliance-sensitive scopes.
  • Strong communication, relationship management, and cross-functional coordination skills with the ability to translate customer needs into executable service solutions.
  • Willingness to travel routinely (50–60%) throughout Florida and Georgia, including coastal markets, ports, terminals, and industrial corridors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading or supporting capture efforts, proposal development, and complex pursuits involving multi-stakeholder operational environments.
  • Familiarity with defense-adjacent, shipbuilding, or Navy/Coast Guard facility environments in the Southeast.
  • Prior relationships with port authorities, marine contractors, or waterfront asset owners in Florida or Georgia.
  • Understanding of OPA 90 compliance, environmental response contracting, and USCG/EPA-driven procurement requirements in marine settings.
  • Familiarity with safety-sensitive industrial environments and HSE-driven procurement requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a regional business development strategy for Florida and Georgia focused on industrial services, maritime support services, environmental and emergency response capabilities, and specialty field solutions for marine and industrial customers.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers across shipyards, terminals, ports, vessel operators, waterfront facility owners, industrial plants, maintenance organizations, and strategic contractors serving those markets.
  • Identify and qualify opportunities related to facility maintenance, project support, environmental remediation, marine operations support, emergency response readiness, outage support, and recurring service programs.
  • Develop key account plans for high-value regional customers, with emphasis on expanding share of wallet, improving visibility into planned work, and embedding the company earlier in customer planning cycles.
  • Coordinate with operations and technical teams to shape practical solutions for maritime and industrial clients whose needs may cross compliance, safety, environmental, and maintenance disciplines.
  • Support teaming, capture, and proposal efforts for larger pursuits involving marine infrastructure, shipbuilding, defense-adjacent opportunities, terminal support, or regional industrial service contracts.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reporting, account maps, and market intelligence to support disciplined growth management across the territory.
  • Represent the company at regional customer meetings, port and maritime industry events, and targeted commercial forums to strengthen brand visibility and business development access.
