About The Position

Peraton is hiring a Senior Business Development Director to grow its Department of Homeland Security (DHS) footprint. This role requires an individual with deep knowledge of DHS components, competitors, and the processes for shaping work within the agency. The position offers the opportunity to lead growth in a mission-critical sector with constant demand for technological solutions, pursue opportunities exceeding $200M, and operate as an integral part of the Federal Civilian Sector growth team. The successful candidate will shape the work by being involved in customer planning conversations a year in advance of solicitations.

Requirements

  • 18+ years of related work experience
  • 5+ years in business development, capture, or technical/engineering solutions focused on DHS (specifically Headquarters and CBP) and other federal agencies
  • Demonstrated track record of successful pursuits in excess of $100M
  • Successful track record supporting and winning contracts across DHS organizations and the broader federal civilian community
  • Current, broad market relationships and proven success building partnerships with strategic teaming partners (prime and sub)
  • Matured key relationships across DHS and other federal government agencies
  • Ability to think strategically and operate independently
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for customer and partner meetings and conferences
  • Highly effective communicator equally comfortable with executives, program managers, and federal customers
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Own the pipeline: Create, identify, develop, and qualify opportunities aligned to Peraton's strategic campaigns, driving meaningful, measurable revenue growth.
  • Hit the number: Achieve acquisition and sales goals through new business wins, contract recompetes, teaming, and organic program growth.
  • Build the plan: Develop and continuously refresh a strategic growth plan and associated pipeline, consistent with corporate campaign strategy.
  • Be the customer's trusted advisor: Serve as the primary interface with the DHS customer community for assigned opportunities and build durable relationships through effective communication.
  • Shape what's coming: Influence requirements and acquisition strategies before formal solicitations are released.
  • Hunt for what's next: Identify and target new markets, adjacencies, and partnerships that align with Peraton's strengths.
  • Run a disciplined process: Embrace Peraton's Business Acquisition Process and effectively manage and communicate opportunities, pursuit plans, and risk to leadership and technical teams.
  • Bring solutions to life: Work with internal technical and program management teams to translate capabilities into RFIs, market surveys, white papers, briefings, and demonstrations that resonate with the customer.
