About The Position

The Senior Business Banker is responsible for developing, managing, and growing business banking relationships throughout the Northern Colorado Springs and Monument market. This role serves as the primary point of contact for business members, delivering financial solutions that support day-to-day operations, long-term growth, and overall financial success. Through a consultative and relationship-driven approach, the Senior Business Banker works closely with business owners and decisionmakers to understand their unique needs and connect them with appropriate deposit, treasury management, and business banking solutions. Success in this role requires a balance of new relationship acquisition, portfolio management, and relationship expansion, with a strong focus on achieving established production, deposit growth, and relationship growth goals. As a visible representative of Wings within the community, the Senior Business Banker actively cultivates referral sources, develops new business relationships, and strengthens partnerships with local businesses, professional partners, and community organizations. The ideal candidate is an experienced business banking professional who enjoys building relationships, prospecting within the market, and helping businesses achieve their goals while delivering an exceptional member experience.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field of study preferred.
5+ years' experience with business-to-business related sales. (Required)
3+ years' in a business-to-business role in a financial institution with a focus on outbound sales. (Preferred)
Relationship Management - influencing, advisory, and acquisition skills

Communication - superior verbal and written communication skills
Initiative/Sound decision making/managing the member experience with credit union regulations and procedures
Able to operate a motor vehicle
Comprehensive knowledge of financial services and offerings
Strong knowledge of business economics and banking
Strong knowledge of commercial/small businesses
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
REQUIRED: Driver's license

Responsibilities

Develop and execute an annual market plan and calling strategy designed to achieve established production goals, portfolio growth, relationship acquisition, and deposit growth objectives.
Develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of business banking relationships through proactive calling efforts, referrals, networking activities, and ongoing relationship management.
Build strong relationships with business owners and key decisionmakers by gaining a thorough understanding of their operations, financial priorities, and future goals.
Conduct regular business visits, relationship reviews, and account planning activities to uncover opportunities for growth and deepen existing relationships.
Serve as the primary business banking contact for assigned relationships, providing responsive service and proactive financial guidance.
Retain and expand existing business relationships through exceptional service and the delivery of relevant banking solutions.
Drive portfolio growth through new deposit acquisition, treasury management adoption, and expansion of existing member relationships.
Maintain a disciplined portfolio management strategy that balances relationship retention, growth, and profitability.
Maintain an active prospecting plan focused on acquiring new business relationships and expanding market presence.
Proactively identify, pursue, and acquire new business members through outbound calling, referrals, networking, community involvement, and strategic relationship-building efforts.
Develop and manage a consistent pipeline of prospective business members and opportunities.
Establish and maintain relationships with centers of influence, including accountants, attorneys, commercial real estate professionals, business consultants, and community leaders.
Represent Wings at chamber functions, industry associations, trade organizations, community events, and networking opportunities.
Execute consistent calling, appointment-setting, and relationship-building activities designed to generate new business opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of prospecting activities, relationship plans, pipeline opportunities, and member interactions within the CRM platform.
Meet or exceed established monthly, quarterly, and annual goals related to new business relationships, deposit growth, referral activity, and portfolio expansion.
Consistently achieve prospecting expectations through outbound calls, member appointments, networking activities, and community engagement.
Generate new deposit growth through both new relationship acquisition and deepening existing member relationships.
Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities that supports sustained portfolio growth and achievement of production objectives.
Contribute to team and organizational goals through achievement of established business banking performance metrics.
Regularly review portfolio performance, production results, and relationship activity with leadership to ensure alignment with market and organizational objectives.
Assess business member needs and recommend appropriate deposit, cash management, treasury management, and other business banking solutions.
Identify opportunities to introduce additional banking services that improve efficiency and support business operations.
Partner with internal subject matter experts to deliver comprehensive solutions tailored to member needs.
Recognize lending opportunities and facilitate introductions to business lending partners when appropriate.
Remain knowledgeable of business banking products, services, and market trends to effectively serve business members.
Monitor relationships for changes that may impact service needs, financial performance, or overall relationship health.
Partner closely with service center and retail teams to support business member growth and identify referral opportunities.
Collaborate with treasury management, business lending, wealth management, and other internal partners to deliver a seamless member experience.
Support team initiatives and contribute to department and organizational goals.
Participate in meetings, training programs, and professional development opportunities to maintain and expand industry knowledge.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service throughout the organization.
Share business banking expertise with internal partners to strengthen referral generation and relationship growth efforts.
Maintain a visible presence in the market through active participation in business and community organizations.
Develop relationships with local leaders, referral partners, and centers of influence.
Stay informed about local economic conditions, market trends, and business developments affecting members and prospects.
Serve as a positive ambassador for Wings and its commitment to helping local businesses and communities thrive.
Leverage community involvement and networking activities to strengthen brand awareness and cultivate new business relationships throughout the market.
Adhere to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including those related to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and other compliance responsibilities.
Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable business banking regulations, organizational policies, and risk management practices.
Ensure business banking relationships are managed in accordance with established compliance and operational standards.
