About The Position

Vituity is seeking a Senior Business and Data Analyst to join their team and contribute to transforming healthcare. The role involves establishing and promoting best practices for information sharing, reporting, and analytics within the Operations Division. The analyst will provide consultative and hands-on reporting and analytics services, create reports and dashboards using BI platforms, and develop Power BI dashboards and Power Platform solutions for stakeholder self-service. Responsibilities include maintaining a library of reports, automating business processes, conducting research for analytical solutions, fulfilling data requests, building subject matter expertise in data extracts, and assisting with data quality assurance. The role also involves supporting leadership in driving organizational goals, acting as a consulting partner to operational leaders, designing automation solutions, and providing analytical support for performance and quality improvement programs. The analyst will promote information sharing, evaluate user needs, consult with Physician Leaders, and assess site contractual terms and profitability. They will prepare and present contract negotiation workbooks and financial summaries to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3-6 years of experience with data analysis, planning, coordinating, and implementing healthcare-focused programs required.
  • One (1) year of experience using Business Intelligence tools (such as Tableau or PowerBI) to develop sustainable reports, dashboards, and calculators using various data sources required.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel (intermediate-advanced including pivot tables and advanced functions), Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to identify root causes, map dependencies, and design solutions that address upstream problems.
  • Ability to independently scope, design, and deliver technology solutions with minimal technical supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Understanding of lean/process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent writing skills (writing sample will need to be submitted during interview process).
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills, including financial statements and statistical reports.
  • Proven ability to establish credibility quickly with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of program development and project management concepts.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle detailed work accurately and quickly, work to deadlines on multiple projects independently under limited supervision, and work as a team member in a collaborative and participatory manner.

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query/M, data modeling) and the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint) preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI and agentic tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, intelligent automation) to accelerate analysis, development, and workflow efficiency preferred.
  • Experience with robust financial analytical models’ development preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and promote sustainable best practices for information sharing, reporting, and analytics that can be scaled among different business units within the Operations Division.
  • Provide consultative and hands-on reporting and analytics services for Vituity, quality programs, physician/practice management leadership, and other groups that interface with the Operations division.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and tools using various business intelligence (BI) platforms to be used by physician leaders and business partners. Manage these reporting products through ongoing iterations of the development cycle.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, Power Platform solutions, and other technology tools that enable stakeholder self-service.
  • Create and maintain a library of reports and dashboards to supplement the suite of products provided by the Data/IT team.
  • Evaluate, refine, and further automate business processes for data or information sharing within Operations Division and/or the Enterprise.
  • Conduct research and consult with internal experts to explore and implement analytical solutions that optimize workflows that create sustainable solutions for business needs.
  • Lead and fulfill standard and ad-hoc data requests where appropriate using operational and financial data from both internal and external sources.
  • Build and grow subject matter expertise in the curated data extracts, tables, views, cubes, etc. (to best understand available dimensions, metrics, and derived metrics) by performing data discovery and querying sources; study data lineage and contribute toward creation and maintenance of data dictionary.
  • Assist with data quality assurance and validation efforts to ensure clean and reliable data feeding into reports and dashboards.
  • Function as a business analytics lead supporting Leadership to drive organizational goals, find opportunities to exercise best practices and standard work where appropriate, drive accountability, and keep multiple levels of leadership apprised of significant deviations from meeting site and contract goals.
  • Serve as a consulting partner to operational leaders — scoping problems, evaluating technology options, and delivering solutions that range from process redesign to technology automation.
  • Design and build lightweight automation and workflow solutions (e.g., Power Automate, SharePoint, Power Apps) to reduce manual effort and improve process reliability.
  • Provide analytical support for performance and quality improvement programs, products, and tools that help assess and improve site operational performance, contract stability, patient satisfaction, financial viability, and knowledge dissemination.
  • Promote information sharing and collaboration with business analytics leads from other Divisions, and Business Units.
  • Evaluate user needs and perspectives; consult with Physician Leaders and intake their reporting requests. Collaborate with Operations Division and Revenue Cycle Management teams to determine data requirements, design, and tools to meet the reporting needs.
  • Conduct regular assessments of current site contractual terms and profitability to develop recommendations to minimize their potential fiscal and operational risks.
  • Prepare and present contract negotiation workbooks to Site Leadership Teams comprising of billing and payer mix, provider compensation, hospital and patient revenue, surgical case volume data and more.
  • Prepare and communicate appropriate financial summaries or other reports correlated with site contractual terms to Medical Directors, Regional Director and/or Operations Divisional Leaders to ensure budget neutrality.
