About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst will lead cross-functional efforts within SEI’s Transformation Office to identify business requirements and develop strategic solutions for mission-critical, AI-enabled teaching and learning applications. This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and engineering teams, translating complex educational and operational needs into clear, actionable requirements that support Agile delivery using Scrum methodologies. In addition to strong stakeholder management and business analysis expertise, the role will leverage sufficient technical acumen to contribute to solution shaping through lightweight prototyping and proof-of-concepts, helping accelerate shared understanding, reduce delivery risk, and drive innovation across SEI’s digital learning ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge of business analysis concepts, tools, and techniques, including Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean), user story development, and acceptance criteria.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and negotiation using Agile communication techniques, such as active listening, facilitation, and collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and solutions to diverse audiences using Agile presentation tools, such as backlog refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop creative solutions using Agile analysis techniques, such as root cause analysis, fishbone diagrams, and SWOT analysis.
  • Experience working with SaaS systems and technologies, including integration with other applications and platforms, using Agile development methodologies, such as continuous integration, continuous deployment, and DevOps.
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration and effective communication among stakeholders using Agile facilitation techniques, such as Scrum Mastering, Product Ownership, and Agile coaching.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior Business Analyst role or equivalent, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects and driving business growth using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines using Agile principles, such as iterative development, continuous improvement, and flexible response to change.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred, or commensurate work experience.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided.
  • Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role.
  • If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.

  • Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and stakeholders, providing expert guidance on business requirements and solution development.
  • Lead project teams in analyzing business needs, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and developing strategic solutions that align with organizational goals using Agile principles, such as iterative development, continuous improvement, and flexible response to change.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, user experience analysts, and designers to develop scalable, user-centered solutions that meet business objectives, utilizing Scrum frameworks and ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, and Retrospectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive business cases, including cost-benefit analyses, ROI assessments, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle using Agile communication tools, such as Kanban boards, burn-down charts, and velocity metrics.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to junior Business Analysts, promoting best practices and standards in business analysis, including Agile methodologies and Scrum frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of SEI's business operations, identifying areas for improvement and opportunities for innovation using Lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business analysis, applying this knowledge to drive continuous improvement within the organization.
