About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst is a key member of the Business Transformation & Change Management team, responsible for driving business transformation initiatives and process improvements across the organization. This role partners with cross-functional stakeholders to analyze business processes, identify opportunities for operational efficiency, gather and groom requirements, and support the successful adoption of change. The analyst ensures that business needs are clearly understood, documented, and translated into actionable plans that align with organizational and strategic objectives. The position focuses on business analysis, requirements gathering, change enablement, and transformation. With Whom You Will Work The position will report directly to the Senior Director - Business Transformation & Change Management as part of Farmer Mac’s Operations team and will directly liaise with management and subject matter experts across the Business Development, Operations, and IT teams, as well as members of other functional areas.  Where and When You Will Work The position may be based at Farmer Mac’s headquarters, the Johnston, IA office, or remotely, as determined appropriate by management. Core business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time. Work outside of these times may be required for planned and unplanned activities to complete time-sensitive projects or to attend off-site meetings or events. Periodic travel is expected of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assess current business processes, identify inefficiencies, areas of potential risks, and recommend improvements to enhance operational effectiveness and support strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and clarify business requirements for transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Analyze the effects of proposed changes on business and operations processes and communicate findings with relevant teams.
  • Lead requirements gathering and UAT testing efforts, including organization and management of feedback and results.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment among business and operations units, fostering buy-in and supporting change adoption.
  • Develop clear and concise documentation, including process flows, use cases, business rules, and management-level presentations.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is available to support procedural or policy changes.
  • Support the development and delivery of internal and external training collateral, presentations, and change communications to ensure the successful adoption and implementation of new processes.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of transformation initiatives, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement – including risk management,
  • Assist in project management activities, including facilitating meetings, tracking issues, and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Project Leadership: Lead business transformation projects, managing scope, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful implementation.
  • Governance & Best Practices: Collaborate with stakeholders to improve business governance frameworks and promote best practices in process management.
  • Consensus Building: Facilitate consensus and sign-off on requirements and deliverables across business units.
  • Advanced Problem-Solving: Navigate complex projects and situations while applying critical thinking and creativity.  Strong aptitude for problem-solving and finding progressive solutions.

The typical starting salary range for this position is between $85,000 - $105,000, although wages can vary based on experience and geography, plus performance-based bonus and equity-based awards. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
