About The Position

Nexttech is seeking a technically oriented Senior Business Analyst to translate complex business needs into clear, testable, and implementable requirements for enterprise integration capabilities. The role focuses on APIs, system-to-system communication, data exchange, and reusable integration services in complex enterprise environments. The analyst will work across the delivery lifecycle with business stakeholders, product owners, solution architects, developers, QA, security, operations, and platform teams. The work includes analyzing business processes and system landscapes; defining integration and API requirements; documenting data mappings, business rules, and non-functional requirements; and supporting testing, troubleshooting, and delivery traceability. The role also uses enterprise-approved generative AI tools responsibly to improve requirements and documentation.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of overall IT and Business Analysis experience.
  • At least 5 years of Business Analysis experience within enterprise applications, banking solutions, or complex digital platforms.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in integration analysis, API analysis, or technical requirements definition.
  • Strong experience translating business needs into functional and technical requirements, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, request and response structures, headers, parameters, status codes, versioning, and error contracts.
  • Ability to define API requirements and review OpenAPI/Swagger specifications from a business and integration perspective.
  • Strong understanding of system-to-system integration and enterprise communication patterns.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing synchronous, asynchronous, messaging, and event-driven integration scenarios.
  • Strong working knowledge of JSON and good understanding of XML and SOAP web services.
  • Working understanding of GraphQL concepts, queries, types, and schema-driven data access.
  • Strong field-level data-mapping skills, including transformations, validation rules, data ownership, and backward compatibility.
  • Hands-on experience with Postman, Insomnia, Nightingale, or equivalent API testing and troubleshooting tools.
  • Working understanding of OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, API keys, authentication, and authorization concepts.
  • Ability to define non-functional requirements related to security, observability, logging, monitoring, performance, availability, and resiliency.
  • Good SQL and relational-database knowledge for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient use of Jira and Confluence or equivalent tools for backlog management, traceability, and documentation.
  • Ability to create system context, sequence, process, and integration diagrams using Mermaid, PlantUML, Visio, or equivalent tools.
  • Proven experience collaborating with business, development, architecture, and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, autonomy, and ownership.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both business stakeholders and highly technical teams.
  • Strong technical expertise, a product mindset, collaborative spirit, proactive attitude, resilience, flexibility, and willingness to support teammates.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience with core banking integrations, payments, lending, customer, account, or enterprise-data domains.
  • Familiarity with Apache Kafka, enterprise messaging, and event-driven integration platforms.
  • Experience with workflow and orchestration platforms such as Camunda.
  • Familiarity with API gateways and enterprise integration layers.
  • Technical awareness of .NET, Java, microservices, and containerized application environments.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Elastic and Grafana.
  • Experience assessing API changes for backward compatibility, consumer impact, and operational risk.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Copilot or another enterprise-approved generative AI assistant.
  • Strong prompting skills for requirement structuring, gap identification, scenario generation, and impact analysis.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, data-classification, and safe-use requirements when working with AI tools.

  • Identify gaps, assumptions, dependencies, and ambiguities, and drive clarification before implementation.
  • Maintain traceability between business needs, requirements, technical decisions, and delivered capabilities.
  • Analyze and model system interactions, dependencies, data exchanges, and integration constraints.
  • Define requirements for synchronous, asynchronous, messaging, and event-driven integration scenarios.
  • Define and review REST APIs, Business APIs, GraphQL operations, and SOAP services, including endpoints, operations, payloads, headers, parameters, validations, status codes, and error handling.
  • Review OpenAPI/Swagger specifications from business, functional, and integration perspectives.
  • Define responsibility boundaries among source systems, integration layers, orchestration components, and consuming applications.
  • Analyze timeout, retry, idempotency, duplicate handling, error propagation, and failure-recovery requirements.
  • Document source-to-target mappings, JSON and XML structures, transformations, mandatory and optional fields, defaults, and validation rules.
