Senior Business Analyst – Energy Trading & Risk Systems
About The Position
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support Commercial and Risk teams across Endur, Aligne, PowerOptix, cQuant, and related applications. The role prioritizes business understanding and the ability to listen to stakeholders, clarify their needs, and translate requests into practical solutions. In a lean team that values ownership, flexibility, and willingness to help where needed, the analyst balances project delivery with day-to-day application support. The analyst supports an Endur implementation while addressing ongoing business needs across existing applications. The role partners with business stakeholders, developers, and vendors to deliver enhancements and resolve application, integration, and data issues, and supports testing, documentation, stakeholder communication, change management, and SOX evidence.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related enterprise application roles.
- Strong understanding of the energy trade lifecycle, including trade capture, valuation, confirmations, settlements, accounting, and risk reporting.
- Experience supporting ETRM/CTRM applications.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases for data analysis and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- An adaptable, proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and take ownership beyond a narrowly defined remit.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with Endur/Openlink, Aligne, PowerOptix, or cQuant.
- Experience with bid-to-bill workflows, Azure DevOps (ADO), and application integrations.
- Techno-functional expertise.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document requirements, assess workflows, and recommend system and process improvements.
- Partner with Front Office, Back Office, Risk, developers, and vendors to deliver enhancements and resolve application, integration, and data issues.
- Support the Endur implementation alongside ongoing business needs across existing applications.
- Develop test scenarios, coordinate UAT, track defects, and validate business outcomes.
- Help prioritize competing requests and maintain clear documentation, stakeholder updates, and change-management and SOX evidence.
