Senior Business Analyst, Medicare Stars Reporting
About The Position
OptumRx is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support our Star reporting strategy, with a focus on Part D measures. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering advanced analytics, reporting, and performance measurements that support Medicare Part D Star Ratings improvement initiatives. This role transforms complex healthcare data into actionable insights that help identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and drive data-informed strategies to improve Star Ratings outcomes. You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Requirements
- 1+ years of relevant experience in analytics, data analysis, healthcare, or a related field (or internship/academic equivalent)
- Beginner level of proficiency with Excel (formulas, Pivot Tables, basic data manipulation)
- Beginner level of proficiency with SQL or querying data
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau (academic or project experience acceptable)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to team members
- Exposure to healthcare, Medicare, managed care, or PBM industry
- Experience working with the Part D Medicare Star Rating Program
- Interest in data visualization, reporting automation, and process improvement
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
- Support Stars reporting and analytics for Medicare clients, including recurring reporting deliverables and ad hoc data requests
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and assist in documenting functional and/or technical needs
- Analyze Stars performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in maintaining and improving reporting processes and workflows
- Create basic visualizations and reports using BI tools for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Help document reporting processes, data sources, and methodologies to support team knowledge sharing
- Review CMS technical manuals and guidance to support reporting updates and compliance
