Fraser Health’s Health Informatics – Clinical Ancillary Services portfolio is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Business Systems Analyst to support our six specialized Cardiology Services. About the Role

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst in Health Informatics – Acute Care, you will play a key role in delivering business and systems analysis to support six specialized Cardiac Programs within Fraser Health. You’ll contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of electronic health information systems and business practices that enhance the capture and use of clinical data. Your work will directly support the evolution of electronic health records across the organization.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in health information systems management or a related field.
• 3-5 years of recent, relevant experience in business and systems analysis within a medium to large organization.
• Proven experience in production troubleshooting, system design, application integration, and operations-based development.
• Be able to independently manage small to medium sized projects
• Strong logical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for healthcare innovation.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will also be considered.
• Demonstrated knowledge of health and corporate information systems.
• Ability to analyze business processes and business specifications.
• Knowledge of systems analysis, design and development life cycle theory, concepts and practices.
• Ability to develop innovative system/computing technology approaches and solutions for customer business needs.
• Analytical reasoning and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal effectively with others.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge with HL7 integration (e.g., BizTalk), FHIR, or DICOM is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Fraser Health’s processes, downstream clinical applications, and end-to-end clinical and system workflows is an asset
• Experience in various Cardiac programs is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and optimization of specialized electronic clinical solutions across Fraser Health’s Cardiac departments.
• Drive key portfolio initiatives, including project execution, system operations support, documentation development, and mentorship of Business Analysts.
• Act as a trusted liaison between clinical teams and technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment with best practices in IT and change management.
• Apply your deep knowledge of health informatics, business processes, and system integration to deliver impactful solutions.
• Translate complex business needs into actionable application requirements using your expertise in project management and the systems development life cycle.
• Enhance the performance, support, and sustainability of enterprise systems across the portfolio.
• Provides strategic planning support and change management services by leading and providing senior level support and guidance in streamlining business processes and best practices for health and corporate information systems capture and utilization.
• Leads, develops, and maintains the business processes necessary to facilitate care provider access to health and corporate information systems by conducting feasibility studies and determining user requirements for the uptake of health and corporate information functionality or systems. Leads, coordinates and/or participates in initiatives and process redesign that supports and follows the service management methodology.
• Provides senior level business analysis by carrying out work flow analysis, developing business information requirements and models, defining business scope and objectives and planning, designing, or modifying practical manual and automated business processes.
• Provides health information systems projects responsibility, under the direction of the Lead or Portfolio Manager, by performing business systems analysis support. Will lead small projects and provide project management guidance to Business Analysts.
• Analyzes and diagnoses health information systems applications and/or business issues and provides resolution to either the systems or the business processes. Supports business process changes and/or functional changes to health information systems in support of business practice requirements by testing, modifying, and maintaining the integrated health information systems applications.
• Develops Service Level Agreements between Informatics and assigned business areas to support the movement of projects to operational status, maintenance, and support.
• Resolves operational issues with health information systems as identified internally or externally from the Informatics Customer Service desk.
• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of health informatics goals, objectives, policies and procedures for Informatics and assigned business areas within Fraser Health.
• Participates on assigned internal and external committees as required and works collaboratively as a member of the Health Information Systems and Services team.
