About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst acts as a subject matter expert and liaison to IT and business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems, particularly in the space of Provider Data. The Sr. Business Analyst understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements, and develops proposed workflows, metrics, and desktop procedures for process optimization. The role involves developing functional specifications, change requests, workflows, and business processes for complex business engagements by analyzing and interpreting regulations, data, and requirements. It ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported, and resolved promptly. The analyst will analyze business and regulatory requirements and existing processes for opportunities for efficiency and improved member and employee experience, communicating needed changes to the development team. They will review and edit requirements, specifications, business processes, and recommendations related to proposed solutions for process optimization, working closely with internal departments, IT, and other shared services to ensure desired outcomes are achieved. Collaboration with internal and external customers is key to ensuring requirements are clearly understood. The role includes performing process monitoring and auditing, providing support during compliance audits, and utilizing an understanding of business issues and Provider Data challenges to implement successful process and policy updates. The Senior Business Analyst partners with other departments to provide functional support and knowledge related to projects and system enhancements, manages milestones and deliverables for complex business and systems projects by monitoring deadlines and communicating effectively, and functions as a functional knowledge resource within Provider Data, assisting with escalated issues and tasks as needed. They will lead implementation efforts, develop implementation plans, define test conditions and scenarios, and develop accurate and complete test plans. The ability to lead impact analysis of new tools, technology, and processes on existing workflows and data flows, including documentation and analysis of Turn Around Time impacts, is crucial. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 6-10 years of related experience as a Sr Business or Process Analyst.
  • Technical expertise - Strong technical skills for functional area.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Teams), Visio, and SQL required.
  • Problem Solving - Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Communication – Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Documentation – Strong Documentation skills for processes and workflows.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A background check is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate or Advanced Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience in health plan or healthcare industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops functional specifications, change requests, workflows and business processes for complex business engagements by analyzing as well as interpreting regulations, data and requirements.

  • Functions as a functional knowledge resource within Provider Data, and assists with escalated issues and tasks, as needed.

  • Is able to lead Impact analysis of new tools, technology, and process on existing workflows and data flows. Including the documentation, and analysis of Turn Around Time impacts to delivery of timely, quality data.
