About The Position

The position is responsible for creating the business and/or functional requirements necessary for technology solutions that meet customer needs, expected delivery dates, and exceptional quality standards. The Senior Business Analyst will lead clinical requirements development, possess senior-level functional knowledge of assigned application technology, and interact with business users to understand new business requirements and enhancement requests. This role serves as a liaison between application technology vendors, internal IS groups, and clinical users, translating business requirements into product-specific designs and configuration, detailed requirement specifications, and use cases. The analyst will communicate with departments to understand workflows and processes to design effective technical solutions, deliver functional specifications, design documents, clinical process workflows, and related documentation for new development projects and/or enhancement and modification requests. They will interact with Systems Analysts during the software build/configuration and testing processes, perform functional application configuration, and configure/run reports at user request. Additionally, the role involves designing and executing test plans, demonstrating new functionality, reviewing vendor documentation, interfacing with business users for escalated support calls, and participating in user focus groups and workshops. A strong knowledge of the Sunrise Acute Care application is required, including designing and developing orders and order sets in Sunrise Clinical Manager for CPOE, and creating/testing orders for ancillary services. The analyst will escalate obstacles and issues to the Manager, carry out unit and integrated testing, provide implementation support during activations, and participate in workgroups. The role also includes providing 24x7 on-call support during team rotation, assisting with Sunrise helpdesk calls, and providing formal and informal training on Sunrise content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and advanced degree or coursework preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience and industry experience
  • 7+ years’ relevant work experience; 2-3 years at the Senior level or preferred equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years’ senior level experience in providing business process support for assigned product, recognized an expert in the organization in assigned product preferred.
  • 3+ years’ working knowledge of any of the following: Sunrise Clinical Manager, Sunrise Surgical Care, Sunrise Radiology, Acute Care, Emergency Care, and Ambulatory Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute functional, integration, and regression test plans for new application functionality, product releases and enhancements
  • Ensure programs meet clinical specifications
  • Demonstrate new functionality to clinical users and gather input for future direction
  • Review vendor provided documentation and user manuals needed to support the product
  • Directly interface with business users by responding to support calls escalated by the Service Desk
  • Participate in user focus groups and requirements workshops, vendor training, and demonstrations
  • Possess strong knowledge of Sunrise Acute Care application
  • Design and develop orders and order sets in Sunrise Clinical Manager for CPOE
  • Create and test orders for ancillary services including Surgery, Pharmacy, Respiratory, Blood Bank, Lab, and Radiology
  • Escalate obstacles, scope changes, or production issues to the Manager
  • Carry out unit and integrated testing for new implementations
  • Provide implementation support during activations
  • Participate in workgroups
  • Provide 24x7 coverage for after-hours support calls during team rotation
  • Assist with Sunrise helpdesk support calls, including workstation setup, user accounts, and troubleshooting application or printing issues
  • Provide formal yearly training to incoming residents on Sunrise content.
  • Provide informal application training during service calls.
