About The Position

This is a temporary project role for a Senior Business Analyst in Austin, TX, with an estimated duration of 12 months and possible extensions. The position is hybrid, requiring both on-site and telework. Candidates must be able to relocate as required to be considered for future opportunities. The role involves analyzing user needs, business processes, and system capabilities to improve existing systems, eliciting requirements through various methods, and transforming this information into detailed documentation and designs. The analyst will also mentor colleagues and utilize tools like Jira and Modern Requirements for project management and status tracking.

Requirements

• Experience with Eliciting requirements from interviews with customers and creating well-written system requirements (8+ years).
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) (8+ years).
• Experience with Business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement (8+ years).
• Experience with Developing user stories and use cases that conform to business analysis best practices (8+ years).
• Experience with Designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices (5+ years).
• Experience with Atlassian Jira (5+ years).

Nice To Haves

• CRM domain expertise with a strong understanding of CRM workflows, data models, and user needs (3+ years).
• Experience working with TEA or any federal, state, or local government agency (3+ years).
• Experience with the Texas charter school application, authorization, or renewal process (2+ years)
• Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Master).

Responsibilities

• Analyze user needs, business processes, pain points, and computer system capabilities to automate or improve existing systems.
• Elicit requirements using joint application development (JAD), interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, competitive product analysis, and workflow analysis.
• Transform information from elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups.
• Use standard templates and simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language.
• Act as a mentor to peers and colleagues in disseminating best practices and proactively seek out training opportunities.
• Use tools, such as Jira and Modern Requirements, to manage the change control process, participate in the SDLC, and track and communicate requirements status.
