About The Position

WSP is seeking a Senior Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project Manager for northern California (San Francisco, Oakland, Antioch). This role involves transforming communities by being part of the National Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Team, contributing to a growing organization that meets client objectives and solves challenges. The WSP BRT team supports agencies and clients through all project phases, from feasibility studies and planning to design, construction, procurement, and commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar designation.
  • 12+ plus years of experience in transit projects or equivalent.
  • Experience working with agencies to deliver transit projects.
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, including collaborating with local governments, local and federal agencies, community groups, and elected leadership.
  • Demonstrated organizational and communications skills.
  • Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead California BRT business development and strategic initiatives in areas such as Sacramento and West Sacramento.
  • Be a leader in developing our BRT team in California.
  • Serve as a technical expert on BRT projects across all phases, from concept to construction to revenue service.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams to delivery medium ($1 million) to large contracts ($50 million).
  • Manage contract negotiations, scope and fee development, project setup, subcontracts, change management, management plans (Project Management Plans, Quality Management Plans, Risk Management Plans, Project Safety Plans), and project reviews.
  • Manage delivery of scope, schedule, and budget in collaboration with task managers.
  • Serve as primary point-of-contact for clients on projects.
  • Mentor and train staff in BRT best practices, including delivery, design, and quality.
  • Support delivery of BRT projects nationally with technical expertise, including opportunities to travel.
  • Demonstrate skills to the industry through conference presentations and paper publication.
  • Assist in growing the business by building relationships, writing marketing proposals, and providing other business development support.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
