Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this position organizes, plans, assigns, reviews, and supervises the work of assigned crews involved in the maintenance and repair of public buildings, furnishings, and equipment, including custodial maintenance. This is the first supervisory level in the series, providing supervision to lower-level personnel. It differs from the Facilities Technician III by performing the most difficult and responsible duties, including direct supervision. This is a working leader role with responsibility for in-house and contracted building maintenance services for all City-owned buildings. It is distinguished from the Facilities Manager class, which has full supervisory responsibility for the Building Services Division.
