This Senior Building Mechanical Engineer position will work with senior technical staff on various building mechanical projects, primarily in the water and wastewater industry. The Building Mechanical Engineering role is responsible for leading the design and implementation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler systems for high-profile building projects. The role interprets mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes, as well as relevant fire protection and life-safety standards (including, but not limited to, those of the CSA and NFPA) relevant to commercial buildings and wastewater treatment facilities. The role includes sizing ductwork, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, selecting suitable equipment, and drafting and modeling these systems using AutoCAD and Revit software. The role also develops specifications in Word and Speclink, and reviews drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy. This role requires strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and a willingness to mentor other engineers and designers. Hybrid or fully remote work from British Columbia, Canada is allowed but candidates may be asked to travel to client worksites a couple times per quarter.
