About The Position

We serve the residents of Hamilton County in more ways than you may realize! As the Senior Budget Analyst here at Hamilton County, you will lead advanced, countywide fiscal and budget analysis that supports critical financial planning and decision-making. You will partner with departments and leadership to develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and provide data-driven recommendations that shape how resources are allocated across the organization. You will play a key role in identifying trends, solving complex fiscal challenges, and improving financial processes. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, or public sector fiscal operations.
  • Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes departmental budget requests, financial plans, and expenditure patterns.
  • Collaborates with departments to evaluate budget needs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure alignment with county priorities.
  • Develops and supports the County Administrator’s Recommended Budget.
  • Analyzes financial statements, expenditure activity, and budget performance to monitor spending and identify trends, risks, and variances; collaborates with departments and leadership to address fiscal issues and ensure alignment with budget plans.
  • Oversees and supports fiscal transaction processes across departments to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with approved budgets.
  • Develops and prepares financial reports, summaries, and analyses to support budget development, monitoring, and decision-making; analyzes financial data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting; interprets data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
