About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our Bridge Team in Columbia, SC. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, evaluating, and delivering innovative structural solutions for bridge projects. Your responsibilities will span from rehabilitation to new structures, contributing to projects that enhance safety, improve mobility, and support the long-term resilience of the nation's bridge network. You will also mentor engineers and shape high-quality technical delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
• Minimum of 4 years of discipline-specific engineering experience required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Advanced proficiency with bridge design and modeling software (LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.), as well as Microsoft Office required
• Specific experience with prestressed girder design, bridge replacement, culvert design, and load ratings as well as the ability to sign and seal design documents
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures, business practices, and engineering laws
• Ability to lead a team and work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced judgment and analysis techniques to complete complex engineering designs, technical reports, specifications, and contract documents for bridge projects.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of projects with other engineering disciplines and project management staff.
• Monitor project progress and performance to ensure efficient production and minimize issues in vital infrastructure.
• Complete projects within budget and scheduling constraints, supporting sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
• Provide guidance and technical review for junior engineering staff.
