About The Position

Wilson & Company is seeking a full-time senior bridge (structures) engineer to support our bridge team in our Denver office. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys being part of a team performing office and fieldwork.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
10+ years of experience in structural engineering design including bridge, retaining wall and other transportation structures.
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Experience in plan development, analysis and design calculations, quality control of highway structures and/or railroad structures.
Familiarity with AASHTO and/or AREMA.
Experience in using software like Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, MIDAS, Risa, Lpile, Mathcad and other related engineering software to design structural elements of bridges.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to perform office and fieldwork.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Civil Engineering.

Responsibilities

Design and detailing of railroad and highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, and drainage structures.
Perform complex engineering tasks accurately.
Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
Develop and review drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.
Lead the structural design of projects.
Mentor entry-level staff in the design and production of construction drawings.
Communicate effectively to direct entry-level staff and provide reports and updates to senior-level staff and clients.
Collaborate with other offices and Structure Bridge groups.
Work in a team environment with engineers from a multitude of disciplines and locations.
Meet with clients and pursue work.
