About The Position

TreeFrog Therapeutics is seeking an experienced bioprocess specialist/engineer to join our discovery and innovation team in Cambridge, MA. TreeFrog is using our proprietarly C-Stem microencapsulation technology to develop advanced manufacturing solutions to enable the production of pluripotent stem cell (PSC) derived therapeutics for the treatment and cure of multiple diseases (Parkinson’s, Type 1 Diabetes, and others). The laboratory in Cambridge consists of field experts in multiple complementary technical disciplines (stem cell biology, cell differentiation, physics, microfluidics, etc.) who collaborate rapidly identify problems in the manufacturing space and develop novel solutions. We are seeking an experienced bioprocess engineer to lead a team dedicated to integrating our existing technologies and expertise and applying it to scaled biomanufacturing.

  • Bioprocess engineer with at least 3 years of demonstrated experience with perfused bioreactor systems in the 1 and 10 liter scale.
  • At least 3 years demonstrated experience with pluripotent stem cells (either Embryonic or induced) and growth within a stirred tank bioreactor. Minimally must have experience with pluripotent stem cell expansion, but ideally with both expansion and differentiation.
  • Experience with proper experimental design (DOE or similar) and implementation within a perfused bioreactor environment
  • Experience in testing and developing novel in-process controls (capacitance sensors, metabolite sensors, etc).
  • Strong experience in multiple analytical assays. Experience in flow cytometry a must.
  • Experience in working in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment, and understanding the technical constraints
  • Excellent documentation skills
