About The Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Biometrics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) program focused on biometric data, source information management, and modernization. The Senior Biometrics SME will provide technical and operational expertise supporting the processing, storage, transmission, retrieval, search, and management of biometric and biographic information. This position requires extensive knowledge of DoD biometric systems, human-signature databases, data management, and biometric technologies supporting Counterintelligence (CI), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), and related intelligence operations. The successful candidate will work in a highly sensitive, mission-focused environment and contribute to the modernization, integrity, standardization, and effective management of biometric and source-related data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field; OR a minimum of eight (8) years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience supporting data, database, biometric, or related technical functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with biometric technologies and their application within DoD or Intelligence Community environments.
  • Experience and/or education in: Data mining, Statistical analysis, Computer programming, Knowledge-site development and sustainment, Modernized communication methods
  • Experience supporting data-driven management activities.
  • Ability to operate effectively within a sensitive, mission-focused Government environment.
  • Strong analytical, technical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain capabilities to process, store, transmit, retrieve, and search biometric data in accordance with applicable community best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain capabilities to ingest, retrieve, view, manage, and export digitized documents.
  • Support the collection, searching, storage, and sharing of biometric and biographic information supporting worldwide operational requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to biometric identification systems, biometric-enabled watchlisting, and human-signature databases.
  • Support biometric oversight, system sustainment, and modernization initiatives.
  • Assist with the digitization, management, reconciliation, governance, and archival administration of source information.
  • Apply data-mining, statistical-analysis, and technical methodologies to large data sets to support effective tracing and information management.
  • Support data-driven management activities associated with Defense CI/HUMINT collectors and source operations.
  • Collaborate with Government stakeholders, technical teams, and other mission partners to support operational and technical requirements.
  • Ensure biometric and associated source information is handled in accordance with applicable security, information-protection, and operational requirements.
  • Complete all required Government training and comply with applicable nondisclosure and information-security requirements.
