About The Position

KINTERA is a newly merged consulting firm specializing in services and solutions for the resource sector. With a close-knit team, a diverse client base, and a strong reputation for quality and service, the company operates offices throughout British Columbia. We are looking for a full-time Senior Biologist to join our team of Resource Professionals working for the Capital Projects Department. Our mission is to provide the highest caliber of service to meet the needs of our clients, and we are only as good as the people on our team. We are looking for a team player who is motivated, positive, and dependable. This position will be based out of Terrace, B.C.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in environmental consulting
  • Experience with environmental impact assessments focused on fish, aquatic habitats, and water quality
  • Strong understanding of provincial and federal environmental legislation (Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Management Act, Fisheries Act)
  • Familiarity with B.C. regulatory processes and permitting requirements
  • Skilled in working with regulatory agencies and stakeholders on compliance
  • Background in environmental monitoring, erosion and sediment control, and site reclamation
  • Proficient in fish survey techniques: electrofishing, habitat assessments, and tagging
  • Excellent communication, relationship‑building, report‑writing, and technical documentation skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, GIS, and data analysis tools
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Experience operating 4x4 vehicles off‑highway

  • Professional designation (R.P.Bio, P.Bio, P.Ag, RB.Tech) considered an asset, or eligibility within six months

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the preparation of environmental assessments and management plans under provincial, territorial, and federal requirements
  • Supervising, training, and mentoring junior biologists in their technical and professional development
  • Preparing technical reports, proposals, monitoring summaries, and study designs
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental considerations into project design and delivery
  • Performing field work such as fish and wildlife salvages, water sampling, nest sweeps, and vegetation surveys
  • Leading or supporting reclamation planning, site restoration, and environmental management initiatives
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, permits, and environmental plans, including spill response and revegetation
  • Assisting with permitting, data collection, field logistics, and quality‑assurance activities
  • Supporting project planning through scheduling, budgeting, and client coordination
