About The Position
As a Senior Biologist/Phytoplankton Expert, you will provide critical laboratory support for research and monitoring projects focused on the upper San Francisco Estuary and other freshwater and estuarine ecosystems in California. You will use light microscopy to identify and enumerate phytoplankton, contributing to our understanding of these vital aquatic systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, environmental sciences or other related field of study with 10+ years of experience in conducting phytoplankton identification and enumeration
- Master's degree in aquatic biology with 5+ years of experience in conducting phytoplankton identification and enumeration
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in zooplankton and larval fish identification and enumeration
- Expertise in phytoplankton identification
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
