About The Position

This role provides expert-level support and guidance on a project-by-project basis. The Senior Biologist Microbiologist may offer direct assistance, monitor project progress, and evaluate results, making necessary adjustments to methods or project design. This position operates with a high degree of autonomy, often leading projects and mentoring junior staff. The individual will possess the knowledge and skills to independently conduct primary tasks such as analyzing environmental samples using microbiology and biology methods, reviewing data, performing environmental risk assessments, and other field activities. A broad knowledge base and versatility are required to lead SOP/method development and support additional tasks as needed. Responsibilities include performing QC microbiological testing, such as water testing, Microbial Limits, and Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing, and reviewing laboratory records for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and conformance to specifications.

Requirements

Bachelors in biology or microbiology or higher
4 additional years of experience

Responsibilities

Provide expert-level support or guidance on a project-by-project basis.
Provide direct assistance, review progress, and evaluate results.
Make changes in methods or project design where necessary.
Lead projects and mentor staff members with less experience.
Analyze environmental samples using microbiology and biology methods.
Perform data review.
Conduct environmental risk assessments or other field activities.
Lead SOP/method development.
Support additional assigned tasks as needed.
Perform QC microbiological testing, including water testing, Microbial Limits and Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing.
Review laboratory records for accuracy, completeness, compliance, and conformance to specifications.
