About The Position

The Senior BIM Coordinator is responsible for providing modeling and/or coordination efforts for both project delivery and standards. This role is a member of the production team that will review modeled content for constructability, coordinate modeling efforts with the BIM and Project team, and may function as a Detailer as determined by their supervisor. The position requires knowledge of Autodesk Navis Works, Forma (ACC), and a working knowledge of 3D layout and design. The Senior BIM Coordinator must be able to take verbal and general written direction and translate it into appropriate, working design documents/Revit models. They will work closely with EC field supervision to produce dimensioned drawings for layout and pre-fabrication from the model and may lead EC Virtual Construction teams or work with vendors to laser scan existing structures. Fluency with all plotters, printers, and reproduction systems is expected, as is the ability to import various document types into Revit projects. The role also involves acknowledging EC confidentiality and Non-Disclosure requirements and protecting Proprietary or Company Intellectual Property.

Requirements

  • Associates or industry equivalent years experience.
  • Understanding of MEP systems, Building systems and sequencing.
  • Experience working with Field teams, Project managers, General contractors’ BIM teams.
  • Skilled in Markups and documentation and Presenting models to stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Navis Works, Forma (ACC) and working knowledge of 3D layout and design.
  • Sufficient working knowledge of the most current modeling applications software in use by EC, including being able to manipulate Revit families, views, browser structure, sheets, schedules, filters and similar Revit functions.
  • Understanding of 3D coordination with other trades.
  • Working knowledge of the current version of Revit software employed by the Department.

Responsibilities

  • Review Navis models (NWD) models and give direction to the Modeling team on constructability and EC quality Standards.
  • Perform Model sign-offs.
  • Create marked-up drawings in PDF editing software and in Autodesk to give direction to modeling teams.
  • Represent EC in clash coordination efforts with General Contractors' BIM Team.
  • Setup of Revit views for use by the EC Project team, including electronic document filing and all other facets of the electronic drawings and/or models.
  • Prepare copies and help make sets of documents for transmittal to other parties.
  • Download drawings and information from the Web, SharePoint or project websites (FTP, etc.).
  • Documents and archives work in accordance with the EC standard.
  • Coordinate delivery of a 3D object model created from laser scan data.
  • Ability to receive and transmit documents on behalf of the design team, either via posting to website or the Internet or via hard copy.
  • Import documents, such as spreadsheets, photos, images, and word processing files into Revit projects.
  • Work closely with EC field supervision to produce dimensioned drawings for layout and pre-fabrication from the model.
  • Lead EC Virtual Construction teams or work with vendors to laser scan existing structures.
