About The Position

The Senior Benefits Specialist supports the administration and ongoing delivery of DSV’s Health & Welfare and retirement benefit programs across the U.S. This role applies independent judgment and analytical skills to support benefits operations, resolve employee issues, ensure data accuracy, and maintain compliance with applicable regulations. The Benefits Specialist partners closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure efficient, accurate, and employee-focused benefits processes while contributing to process improvements and operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3–5+ years of experience supporting benefits administration, including Health & Welfare and/or retirement plans.
  • Working knowledge of benefits regulations, including ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS platforms required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and resolve issues.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines and escalate when appropriate.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day administration of Health & Welfare and retirement benefit programs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries and claim issues, researching and resolving moderately complex concerns in partnership with vendors and internal teams.
  • Perform regular benefits audits (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual) to validate data accuracy and identify discrepancies for resolution.
  • Support 401(k) plan administration, including employee inquiries, enrollments, contributions, loan processing, and reporting coordination.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration activities, including qualifying events and communication with third-party administrators.
  • Assist with ACA-related processes, including data review, system updates, and reporting preparation.
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to support issue resolution and ensure smooth benefits operations.
  • Assist with benefits-related projects, including open enrollment, system updates, and process enhancements.
  • Support configuration and maintenance of ADP Workforce Now benefits modules, including life events, enrollment setup, and automated communications.
  • Conduct benefits orientations and assist in employee education efforts regarding benefit offerings and processes.
  • Identify and escalate process gaps or inefficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain organized documentation, procedures, and vendor information within internal systems.
  • Cross-train with Benefits team members to ensure coverage and continuity of operations.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
