About The Position

The Senior Benefits Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in employee benefits administration, financial analysis, compliance, and vendor management. This position plays a critical role in the administration and oversight of self-insured health and welfare benefit programs, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, financial accuracy, and an exceptional employee experience. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with extensive benefits knowledge to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Actuarial Science, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience administering or analyzing large, self-insured employee benefit programs.
  • Experience with benefits auditing, reporting, financial analysis, and vendor management.
  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits administration with emphasis on self-insured health plans.
  • Understanding of federal regulations governing employee benefits programs.
  • Advanced analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Experience conducting audits and detailed data analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience utilizing Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), including ADP, UKG, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to interpret complex benefits records, reports, and data.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Reliable transportation with current vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Observe all safety, security, confidentiality, and professional conduct standards.
  • Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development activities.
  • Exercise sound judgment, professionalism, and ethical behavior in all interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support health and welfare benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, COBRA, Medicare, HIPAA, and other employee benefit offerings.
  • Provide guidance on employee eligibility, enrollment, life event changes, and benefits administration processes.
  • Support annual open enrollment activities, employee education initiatives, and benefits communications.
  • Monitor and analyze claims spending, utilization trends, and healthcare costs.
  • Review and reconcile vendor invoices, claims reports, and financial records related to employee benefits.
  • Conduct audits of benefits enrollment, billing, and eligibility data to ensure accuracy.
  • Develop reports and analyses to support benefits strategy, budgeting, and decision-making.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor EDI file feeds to ensure accurate and timely transmission of enrollment data.
  • Maintain data integrity across HRIS and benefits administration systems.
  • Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve data discrepancies and enrollment issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, Medicare, and IRS requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating, implementing, and enhancing employee benefits programs.
  • Coordinate with third-party administrators, insurance carriers, brokers, and vendors to address operational and compliance matters.
