Under the clinical direction of the Director of Behavioral Supports or designee, the Senior BCBA is responsible for performing functional behavior assessments, developing behavioral interventions, training staff and families to implement the interventions, and ongoing monitoring, training, and adjustment to the intervention based on treatment integrity and client response to treatment. The Senior BCBA may be responsible for some direct implementation of their designed interventions. The Senior BCBA will work with individuals with significant challenging behavior or otherwise more complex, complicated, or difficult clinical situations as determined by Consultative Services leadership. The Senior BCBA will work primarily with adults who have significant challenging behavior with some unique risk of harm to self/others or other complicating factors (e.g., medical comorbidities, history of failed treatment attempts, etc…), but may be assigned to other appropriate adult or child clinical cases for the provision of behavioral support services. The individual functions as a consultant and as part of an interdisciplinary team and services are delivered in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, private homes, adult foster care homes, community, center, etc... The Senior BCBA will have responsibility for direct oversight of behavioral interventions implemented by direct care or technician staff, which may include observation and consultation during second and third shift as needed to appropriately support the consumer. The Senior BCBA may be required to model and/or implement some behavior support services directly for training purposes or to establish instructional control.
