About The Position

A rapid research & development group within Analog Devices, Inc. is seeking a collaborative, self-driven software engineer with exceptional software development and optimization experience. The ideal candidate should possess strong back-end skills. They should also have experience writing software for hardware devices. The candidate should be self-driven, willing to work as part of a team, and comfortable using critical-thinking skills and creativity to tackle ambiguous tasks.

Requirements

  • Expert level proficiency with Python and corresponding stack of relevant libraries (FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLModel, PyTorch etc)
  • Extensive experience using at least one of the following databases: MySQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, including building migrations, debugging ORM/ODMs shortcomings
  • Experience delivering production software across Linux-based embedded devices, Windows, and macOS environments.
  • Demonstrated experience developing distributed ML training and inference systems using Ray or comparable distributed computing frameworks.
  • Building and scaling cloud applications using AWS and Kubernetes including observability and monitoring
  • Experience with GitHub CI/CD systems, containerization, IaC, AWS CDK, Terraform
  • Must be able to do performance optimization, package management and distribution, load testing and ensure system security across entire app stack
  • Good understanding of system design, hardware and software architecture, hardware and software integration
  • Recent professional experience developing production Python systems, ideally over the last 3 years.
  • Willing to live in Massachusetts and be physically present in the office
  • Adaptability and creativity in tackling complex software challenges with minimal supervision
  • Team player – willing to collaborate with team members on multi-level problems and seek out appropriate support when needed
  • Effectively able to provide daily updates on progress and accurate estimates for time to completion of work
  • Drive to continuously improve as an individual to advance the team’s mission and success

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or exposure with building medical grade software or another regulatory environment
  • Familiarity with Go, Rust, C, C++ and embedded development using Linux is a significant bonus

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for biomedical, diagnostic, and scientific instrumentation systems.
  • Develop APIs, cloud services, and data pipelines for various detection and analysis systems.
  • Implement and optimize software for real-time control and data acquisition, analytics, and monitoring.
  • Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translate these into software requirements and designs.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, process engineers, biomedical engineers, and laboratory personnel.
