About The Position

This backend role focuses on building the AI engine that proposes metadata, automated logic for system reassignment/retirement, and a live inventory of agents and MCP servers. You will work on an established enterprise asset-and-metadata platform, exposing these functionalities through the platform API. The role involves working with Go on AWS, maintaining a production codebase, and extending, refactoring, or decommissioning existing code without causing regressions.

Requirements

5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
Proficiency in Go, including building and shipping scalable backend services and APIs.
Experience with PostgreSQL for schema design and querying.
Experience with MongoDB for schema design and querying.
Working knowledge of AWS services, client libraries, and APIs.
Experience designing, implementing, and tuning agentic, AI-driven workflows (e.g., suggestion engines, automated decision logic, assistant interfaces).
Experience with asset discovery/ingestion tooling (e.g., CloudQuery) for aggregating cloud resources and metadata.
Knowledge of data classification standards, dependency mapping, and functional framework mapping.
Ability to navigate large, unfamiliar codebases to refactor or decommission legacy code without regressions.
Proficiency in unit and integration testing for backend components.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies (sprints, stand-ups, retrospectives).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

Experience with IT asset management, CMDB, or configuration management platforms.
Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and related agent tooling patterns.
Experience with governance, risk, or compliance workflows (e.g., findings management, risk remediation).

Responsibilities

Develop and tune the AI-suggested metadata engine to ensure engineers accept suggestions.
Implement automated logic for reassigning ownership and deprecating systems safely.
Build a complete inventory of agents and MCP servers across production and endpoint environments, accessible programmatically.
Map first-party product inventory and critical user journeys to ensure trustworthy ownership and metadata for decision-making.
Refactor and decommission legacy systems, ensuring comprehensive unit and integration test coverage.
Deliver sprints in collaboration with program and customer teams.
