You will hold a software developer position within the Research & Development team. You will actively participate in all phases of projects (from needs definition to product deployment) and work collaboratively with other teams (Controllers and Sensors). You will contribute to Distech Controls' constant innovation to create and maintain the best products on the market. You will be involved in innovative projects such as: Development of embedded Java microservices Development of IoT solutions Development of artificial intelligence-related products

Requirements

Computer Science, Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering or similar.
Minimum 5 years of experience in software development.
Proficiency in Java and related technologies.
Knowledge of object-oriented design patterns.
Structured, methodical, and organized in your work.
Developed analytical and synthesis skills.
Team spirit and excellent interpersonal skills.
Autonomy, leadership, and initiative.
English and French read, written, and spoken.
Knowledge of recent Java versions.
Experience with source code management tools, such as Git.
Ability to establish and follow project documentation.

Nice To Haves

Embedded or mobile software development experience.
Proficiency in JVM-related languages (Kotlin, Scala, Groovy, etc.).
Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as C#.
Knowledge of low-level languages such as Go, C, or Rust.
Knowledge of Cloud platforms such as Azure IoT.
Experience in unit test development.
Experience with Open Service Gateway Initiative (OSGI) or other microservice development systems.
Knowledge of BAS protocols such as Bacnet.
Knowledge of Jetty, Nginx, Linux, Gradle, Maven, or Docker.

Responsibilities

Develop JAVA microservices within Eclypse Facilities controllers.
Conduct research and technological watch on embedded or Java software development.
Use your creativity to solve complex problems.
Work with source code management and project management tools such as Azure DevOps.
Participate in the continuous integration and deployment of applications (CI/CD).
Actively participate in the exploration and research phases for product design.
Participate in software development, planning, and review in a Shape Up mode.
Collaborate with different teams during development, planning, and pre-release phases.
Play a proactive role in improving methods, tools, processes, and design standards within the software team.
