About The Position

We're hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to help build the future of Emergency Call Triage—an AI-powered platform that helps emergency communication centers identify critical incidents faster and respond more effectively. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of AI, distributed systems, and public safety, helping deliver technology that can have a direct impact on saving lives. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of four days per week in our Manhattan office.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong backend and distributed systems expertise.
Demonstrated experience owning projects from concept through production.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Familiarity with modern AI systems, LLM applications, or AI-enabled products.
Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and driving clarity.
Strong engineering fundamentals with a product-oriented, customer-focused mindset.

Nice To Haves

Strong proficiency in Python or Typescript.
Practical experience building production LLM applications.
Agentic AI systems with tool calling and workflow orchestration.
Experience building voice AI products using ASR, TTS, and real-time conversational frameworks.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy backend services powering AI-driven emergency response workflows.
Own features end-to-end from technical design through production deployment.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and platform teams across the U.S. and Israel.
Build systems that leverage LLMs, voice AI, and modern AI infrastructure.
Create technical design documents and drive architectural discussions.
Participate in customer-facing conversations to understand real-world challenges and improve product outcomes.
