About The Position

Uniswap Labs is a core contributor to the Uniswap Protocol, the world’s largest DEX, with over $4 trillion in volume across 17 chains. It builds products that help millions access the protocol, including the Uniswap Web App, Wallet, and Trading API. Uniswap Labs is also the primary technical provider for Unichain, a DeFi-native Ethereum Layer 2 built to be the home for liquidity across chains. When you join Uniswap, you become part of a team that's reshaping the way value flows on the internet. Our platform team plays a critical role in ensuring our products are scalable, secure, and efficient. We are looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and maintain the shared services that power our ecosystem. We are headquartered in SoHo in New York City, and this role has the option to be partially or fully remote.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, Go, or Rust,
  • Excellent coding skills, deep understanding of AWS cloud constructs and architecture, algorithms, and strong debugging capabilities.
  • Design, build, and maintain a large-scale production system on the cloud, ensuring smooth operation and high availability.
  • Be able to build systems from the ground up, in a 0→1 fashion.
  • A passion for building scalable, reliable systems that enable high-quality feature development.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or a strong interest in infrastructure-as-code tools (Pulumi is a plus).
  • Experience with distributed systems, authentication, and developer tooling.
  • Degree in computer science
  • Background in blockchain or DeFi
  • Love for unicorns :)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend systems that support all shared services at Uniswap Labs.
  • Write high quality and well tested code, and review code from other team members.
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to peers in navigating architectural and coding tradeoffs.
  • Take charge of driving strategic technical initiatives across engineering pods that impact the entire engineering organization.
  • Improve developer productivity and system reliability through automation and best practices.
