This Senior Backend Developer role is a full-time, fractional, remote position based in Mexico, focused on adapting and extending existing backend architecture for a new data centers knowledge management platform.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Python for backend development (APIs, services, application logic).
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience designing and working with REST APIs.
• Familiarity with backend architecture in production environments.
• Experience working with any CMS (content modeling, content delivery, or integrations).
• Ability to navigate and adapt existing systems quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Wagtail CMS.
• Background working on internal tools or knowledge management platforms.
• Experience working in short-term, delivery-focused engagements.

Responsibilities

• Adapt and extend an existing backend architecture to support a new data centers knowledge management platform.
• Work with Python-based services to power content delivery, business logic, and integrations.
• Deploy and operate backend components within Google Cloud environments.
• Integrate and support a CMS-driven system (Wagtail), enabling structured content management.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless data flow and system performance.
• Modify and optimize existing codebases rather than building from scratch, focusing on speed and reliability.
• Support planning and execution phases, contributing to technical decisions and delivery timelines.
