About The Position
Join a forward-thinking platform engineering team as a Senior Backend Developer, driving the modernization and support of mission-critical backend services for leading mobile and online banking channels. Requirements
- Strong expertise in Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
- Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Deep understanding of web applications, web services, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Azure SQL, Service Bus, API Management).
- Skilled in Git-based source control and Azure DevOps Repos.
- Proficient in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps.
- Solid experience in databases, SQL, and data integration patterns.
- Agile/Scrum working experience.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools like GitHub Copilot.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Quick learner with adaptability to new technologies and changing business needs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and event-driven architectures.
- Background in banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of secure software development and regulatory considerations in financial systems.
- Awareness of sustainable coding practices and energy-efficient system design.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and RESTful APIs using Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable, secure, and cloud-native applications leveraging Microsoft Azure services.
- Lead architectural discussions and contribute to innovative technical solutions.
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
- Troubleshoot complex systems, resolve performance bottlenecks, and drive root cause analysis.
- Champion code quality through code reviews and best engineering practices.
- Support application modernization, technical debt reduction, and CI/CD pipeline automation via Azure DevOps.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Evaluate and utilize AI-assisted development tools to boost productivity.
- Maintain high standards for code organization, documentation, and automation.
