About The Position

We have an immediate need for an Application Engineer (Backend) specializing in Python microservices and middleware architecture. In this key role, you will help transition legacy, manual security evaluation processes into a streamlined, automated, continuous monitoring and assessment platform. You will lead the development, testing, deployment, and sustainment of Python-based REST endpoints and microservices using Django and Flask, managing data flows across MariaDB and MongoDB databases to power modern user interfaces.

Requirements

• ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing backend microservices and RESTful web services in Python.
• Proficiency using Django or Flask frameworks for API design and microservices orchestration.
• Practical experience interfacing backend applications with relational databases (MariaDB or similar SQL engines) and NoSQL datastores (MongoDB).
• Direct experience engineering REST endpoints that serialize complex data into JSON format for front-end consumption.
• Strong command of backend software design, middleware integration, and backend performance optimization.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, PLUS 8 + years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 12 + years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with continuous monitoring frameworks, automated compliance assessment, and system security authorization workflows.
• Understanding of how backend REST services interface with modern single-page applications (e.g., Angular dashboards).
• Experience packaging Python microservices into containers (Docker) and deploying via automated CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins).
