This role focuses on cloud infrastructure and automation within AWS, emphasizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. The engineer will be responsible for automating the provisioning and lifecycle management of various AWS services, including identity, compute, storage, backups, networking, logging, and monitoring. They will also deploy, configure, harden, and maintain infrastructure across AWS and hybrid environments, adhering to secure baseline standards. A key aspect of the role involves building and standardizing reusable Terraform modules to enhance consistency across different environments. Additionally, the position involves DevOps enablement, building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Git, and Docker, and managing containerized workloads on ECS/Docker. Operational excellence includes troubleshooting infrastructure and automation issues, implementing and maintaining monitoring/observability tools like Splunk, Zabbix, and AppDynamics, and participating in an on-call rotation. Security, compliance, and resilience are critical, requiring adherence to cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks (NIST, CIS, ISO 27000, FedRAMP/FISMA), collaboration with security and networking teams, and support for business continuity and disaster recovery. The role also involves cross-team collaboration with engineering, security, networking, and application teams, as well as maintaining documentation such as SOPs, system diagrams, and secure configuration baselines, and producing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documentation.
