About The Position

The Senior Purchasing Specialist provides individual support to Tech Ops team members and contributes to sourcing and purchasing aircraft components for the DHL Express aircraft fleet. The role provides daily procurement, material management, and logistical support to Global Aviation Tech Ops teams, including aircraft conversions, heavy checks, and structural component purchasing and repairs.

The position also supports inventory coordination across global aviation warehouses, large line-replaceable component purchasing, repair administration, supplier performance monitoring, and alignment between Finance and the M&E system. The role is based in Erlanger, United States of America.

Requirements

• Typically requires a BS/BA in Aviation Management or Procurement Management.
• Typically requires 3–5 years of experience purchasing large quantities of aircraft components from a global supplier base.
• At least 3 years of experience in vendor relationship management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide procurement, material management, and logistical support for the Global Aviation Tech Ops Team.
• Participate in aircraft-part sourcing and procurement, including sourcing, supplier selection, order processing, and contract administration.
• Monitor and coordinate material management of inventory at permanent and temporary Global Aviation Tech Ops warehouses.
• Support purchasing of large line-replaceable components.
• Coordinate repair administration for large component repairs, including thrust reversers, landing gear, and fan cowls.
• Support supplier performance management and monitoring of repair shops.
• Provide purchasing support for Americas Heavy MX events, established production lines, established minimum/maximum levels, conversion aircraft kits, conversion aircraft non-routine parts, modification kits and parts, and component repairs as necessary.
• Help ensure Finance and M&E system alignment, including goods receipt, location accuracy, and invoice submission to Finance.
