About The Position

The Senior AV Engineer oversees communication and presentation resources within Workiva, facilitating effective collaboration. This role manages live productions, such as all-company meetings and off-site events, working with employees at all levels. The Senior AV Engineer is responsible for vendor management, technical specification discovery and support, and ownership of conference and meeting rooms. While lacking purchasing authority, the Senior AV Engineer independently researches and recommends equipment and technologies to enhance communication platforms.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of related experience in audio engineering, tele-production, or multimedia production
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Working knowledge of industry standards and codes
  • Extensive knowledge of audio/visual solutions
  • Significant knowledge and experience with wired or wireless data networks
  • Formal training or certifications, such as Biamp, Q-SYS, CTS, or DANTE
  • Experience using Vectorworks or similar software
  • Infrastructure cabling, termination, soldering, and wiring understanding
  • Ability to connect and troubleshoot analog and digital audio visual equipment
  • Knowledge of visual and sound production software programs
  • Familiarity with audio peripherals and troubleshooting
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strategic thinking, collaborative decision-making, and risk analysis
  • Ability to balance priorities, adapt to change, and communicate effectively
  • Good interpersonal skills for teamwork and collaborative work situations
  • Up to 15% travel for live Workiva production events
  • Flexible schedule, possible long hours, and various weather conditions
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally
  • Reliable internet access for remote work

Responsibilities

  • Manage live events, including all-company meetings and off-site events
  • Oversee daily operations of hybrid event production
  • Facilitate pre-production logistics
  • Work directly with production crews onsite
  • Set up and operate audio-visual equipment
  • Test setup pre-event and implement alternative solutions
  • Record, produce, and store presentation events
  • Identify technical solutions for presentation events
  • Provide technical support for audio-visual equipment
  • Receive feedback to identify technical needs and develop production plans
  • Assist with troubleshooting audio-visual equipment
  • Research new equipment and technologies for recommendations
  • Represent the company with audio-visual and multimedia vendors
  • Analyze vendor documentation and provide recommendations
  • Manage vendor requests and quotes
  • Provide final documentation for internal approval
  • Actively maintain and monitor equipment and systems
  • Provide in-room computer and AV support
  • Create workflows and designs for daily operations
  • Install, maintain, upgrade, and support video teleconferencing and display systems
  • Ensure conference rooms and systems are checked daily.
  • Identify and address system issues
  • Edit video production footage, special effects, and sound recordings
  • Perform basic editing on non-linear editing stations
  • Store and deliver completed projects
