Senior AV Automation Engineer

SalesforceSeattle, WA
$178,900 - $246,000Onsite

About The Position

Join Salesforce's AV Engineering team — the group responsible for defining conference room technology standards and driving reliability across more than 2,500 meeting spaces in 100 global locations. Based in the United States, this Senior AV Automation Engineer role sits at the intersection of audiovisual systems, automation, and site reliability engineering, giving you access to the latest AI and agentic development tools to make our global meeting room infrastructure more scalable, observable, and self-healing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, site reliability engineering, DevOps, AV automation, or a closely related technical field.
  • Proficient in Python (or a comparable modern scripting language) and have hands-on experience building REST Application Programming Interface integrations, handling JSON payloads, and creating event-driven workflows.
  • Experience with automation or configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Salt, or similar, and can apply those skills to connected hardware environments.
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts relevant to connected hardware — including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and Power over Ethernet — and a demonstrated track record of turning ambiguous operational problems into scalable, reliable solutions.
  • A related technical degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, Git-based workflows, and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipelines, along with familiarity with observability platforms such as Splunk, New Relic, Kentik, or Grafana.
  • Worked with enterprise AV systems or collaboration platforms at scale — including hands-on experience with Google Meet hardware, Logitech, Neat, Cisco, Q-SYS, or similar devices.
  • Experience integrating APIs from SaaS platforms such as Google Workspace, Zoom, WebEx, and Slack, or building ChatOps workflows and agent-driven remediation tools.
  • Relevant industry certifications in collaboration platforms, AV hardware, or cloud technologies (e.g., Certified Technology Specialist, AWS, Splunk, or vendor certifications).

Responsibilities

  • Design and build automation that drives reliability and operational consistency across conference room deployment, configuration validation, monitoring, remediation, asset management, and lifecycle operations — reducing manual effort at scale.
  • Develop observability solutions — including monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and health checks — for meeting room devices, AV systems, network dependencies, and vendor platforms using tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Slack workflows, and NetBox.
  • Create scalable support and self-healing workflows that help support teams diagnose issues faster, trigger approved remediation steps, and maintain configuration data quality across systems, vendor portals, and inventory platforms.
  • Serve as a senior technical contributor: lead complex investigations, mentor engineers and support teams, and influence the AV Engineering roadmap through automation, reliability improvements, and operational best practices.
