About The Position

Join L&T Technology Services (LTTS) as a Senior Automation/Controls Engineer and drive the next generation of manufacturing automation. Be a pivotal leader in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge automation and controls systems. You’ll work cross-functionally to modernize factory operations, integrate advanced robotics, and support digital manufacturing initiatives in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in manufacturing automation, controls engineering, robotics integration, or industrial equipment development
  • Proven history of leading automation capital projects from concept to production
  • Expertise in PLC programming, robot programming, controls architecture, and machine safety
  • Experience in high-volume or complex industrial manufacturing environments
  • Strong track record managing automation suppliers, system integrators, and equipment partners

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced Industry 4.0 technologies
  • Familiarity with IIoT, data analytics, and digital factory implementations
  • Knowledge of vision systems and automated material handling

Responsibilities

  • Lead design, development, and deployment of advanced automation and controls for manufacturing operations
  • Serve as subject matter expert in PLC architecture, HMI development, motion control, robotics, industrial networks, and machine safety
  • Develop and execute automation strategies for factory modernization, productivity improvement, and capacity expansion
  • Manage automation capital projects from concept through production stabilization, including technical specification, business case, and commissioning
  • Design controls architecture, specify hardware, create programming standards, and support full system lifecycle
  • Oversee industrial robot integration, programming, cell optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, IT/OT, Supply Chain, suppliers)
  • Lead equipment procurement: RFQ development, supplier evaluation, technical bid review, FAT, SAT, and final acceptance
  • Establish and enforce automation and controls standards to enhance reliability, maintainability, cybersecurity, and supportability
  • Champion digital manufacturing initiatives: IIoT connectivity, data collection, machine monitoring, remote diagnostics, and Industry 4.0
  • Support new product introductions via process automation, assembly equipment design, and manufacturing system integration
  • Identify and implement productivity improvements using robotics, vision systems, material handling automation, and error-proofing
  • Analyze equipment performance metrics and drive actions to improve OEE, reduce downtime, boost throughput, and increase yield
  • Lead technical activities during equipment installation, debugging, safety validation, commissioning, operator training, and production ramp-up
  • Mentor and coach engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams in automation, robotics, and controls best practices
