Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field
  • Active CPA license or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience performing contract audit services engagements
  • Strong understanding of Federal contracting environments and audit requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise audit engagements and lead teams
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, fieldwork, and reporting for contract audit engagements, including examinations, performance audits, Schedule of Costs Incurred audits, and agreed‑upon procedures related to Federal procurement and contracting activities
  • Supervise and manage complex audit and attestation engagements, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and agency‑specific procedures
  • Review contractor transactions, including payroll, material costs, and subcontractor costs, to verify allowability, allocability, and proper recording
  • Prepare detailed Notices of Findings and Recommendations and draft audit reports in accordance with audit standards
  • Maintain and review audit workpapers, including schedules, summaries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Review staff workpapers, provide technical guidance, and ensure audit objectives are met efficiently and accurately
  • Prepare for and lead engagement meetings, including entrance and exit conferences with client and contractor personnel
  • Collaborate with engagement teams by providing status updates, sharing key information, and identifying necessary adjustments to audit programs or team goals
  • Partner with client management to resolve audit issues and recommend business and process improvements
  • Mentor and support staff development while working closely with senior leadership to support business growth initiatives
