About The Position

CarlsonSV is seeking an experienced auditor for the Senior Audit Associate/Audit Senior position within their Agribusiness Assurance department. This role is based in New Ulm or Plymouth, MN, with hybrid options available. The position is full-time and requires travel throughout western Minnesota and occasionally into South Dakota. CarlsonSV is a growing public accounting firm serving clients across the Midwest, with a specialization in agribusiness, not-for-profit, and governmental organizations. The firm emphasizes hands-on experience, client exposure, professional growth, leadership, integrity, teamwork, and work-life balance. This role is crucial for supporting agribusinesses, which are vital to communities in Minnesota and South Dakota, including farmer cooperatives and grain elevators.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of public accounting audit experience.
  • Ability to confidently lead audit engagements from planning through completion.
  • Ability to take ownership of work and manage engagement responsibilities independently.
  • Comfort in client-facing environments and ability to build trusted relationships.
  • Curiosity, critical thinking, and sound professional judgment.
  • Pride in delivering high-quality work and exceptional client service.
  • Comfortable traveling to client locations throughout Minnesota and South Dakota.
  • Genuine interest in agriculture and the businesses that support the industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience growing up on a farm, working in agriculture, or having a strong understanding of the agricultural industry.

Responsibilities

  • Leading audit fieldwork and managing engagement progress.
  • Working directly with clients to understand their operations and address audit-related matters.
  • Applying professional judgment to resolve complex accounting and auditing issues.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and strengthen client relationships.
  • Working independently in the field and confidently managing engagements when managers or partners are not on-site.
  • Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members.
