About The Position

The Senior Attorney in this position acts as an arbitrator for the Florida Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This is a highly responsible position that reports directly to the Chief Arbitrator.

Requirements

• Skill in drafting legal documents;
• Skill in managing multiple complex cases;
• Ability to manage moderately high caseloads;
• Ability to prioritize work;
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Ability to conduct extensive legal research;
• Ability to make oral presentations in court and in large groups;
• Ability to recognize and act on emerging issues and shifting priorities;
• Ability to travel.
• Must have a valid driver's license;
• Must be a member of The Florida Bar;
• Must have a minimum of two years experience in the practice of law, legal research, legal writing, teaching law or in administrative or judicial proceedings.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Chapter 718, 719 and 720, Florida Statutes, and/or are familiar with arbitration and mediation techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Arbitrating various condominium, cooperative and homeowners association disputes;
• Researches/drafts/reviews/amends pleadings, complaints, motions, dismissal orders, consent orders, settlement agreements and memoranda of law;
• Coordinates with Chief Arbitrator and peers to ensure uniformity in decision making;
• Responds to consumer and industry inquiries.
