In this role, you will support risk management activities across the Single-Family business, help evaluate emerging and existing risks, and collaborate with teams across the organization to strengthen risk awareness, controls, and decision-making. You will bring thoughtful analysis, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach to help the organization proactively identify issues and manage risk within a highly regulated environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, finance, economics, risk management, accounting, information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant experience in risk management, business operations, financial services, governance, controls, audit, compliance, or a closely related area.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate information, identify key risks, and translate findings into practical recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to audiences with varying levels of risk expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective working relationships, collaborate across functions, and influence outcomes without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment.
  • Comfort working with data, business documentation, and risk-related reporting to identify patterns, trends, and potential areas requiring additional attention.
  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibility applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting risk management within mortgage, housing finance, banking, capital markets, or another regulated financial services environment.
  • Experience working with enterprise or business-level risk frameworks, risk and control assessments, issue management, or risk reporting.
  • Familiarity with the Single-Family mortgage lifecycle and the risk considerations that may arise across origination, servicing, credit, operations, counterparties, or related business processes.
  • Experience using data and reporting tools to support risk analysis, monitoring, or management reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, analyze, and communicate business and operational risks that could affect the organization's reputation, safety, security, financial performance, or ability to meet business objectives.
  • Support risk identification and evaluation activities within Single-Family Risk, including reviewing trends, issues, processes, and other information to identify potential areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with business partners, risk professionals, and other stakeholders to understand risk drivers, evaluate potential impacts, and support appropriate risk responses.
  • Contribute to risk monitoring, reporting, and escalation activities by developing clear, concise, and well-supported analyses and recommendations.
  • Help identify opportunities to strengthen controls, processes, governance, and risk management practices; support implementation and follow-through on agreed actions.
  • Review and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information from multiple sources to support informed risk decisions and management discussions.
  • Track emerging risks and changes in the business or external environment and communicate relevant developments to stakeholders.
  • Prepare materials, summaries, and presentations for risk leadership and stakeholder discussions, ensuring information is accurate, consistent, and easy to understand.
  • Promote a strong risk culture by demonstrating sound judgment, constructive challenge, accountability, and effective partnership across teams.
