About The Position

The Senior Associate / Vice President will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of financing and advisory mandates and the management of deal workstreams. This role involves supporting and/or leading the execution of project finance and advisory mandates, coordinating workflow across internal teams and external service providers, determining task sequencing, and reviewing work product from junior team members. The position also involves overseeing client presentations and documentation, serving as a primary client contact, and interfacing with counterparties. Additionally, the role supports business development efforts, including developing pitch materials and assisting with negotiations. Team development, including mentoring junior staff and planning resource allocation, is also a key responsibility. The role is full-time, salaried, and based in New York.

Requirements

  • Completed a relevant undergraduate degree and highly desirable to have a graduate-level qualification such as CFA, CPA, MBA, MA, MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance, accounting, or engineering
  • Minimum of four to six years of relevant experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, or energy/power investment banking
  • Demonstrated experience managing transaction execution from mandate through closing, including coordination of multiple workstreams and external advisors
  • Strong understanding of limited / non-recourse debt structures, financial modeling, and credit analysis in the project finance context
  • Proven ability to manage and develop junior team members in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
  • Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients and senior stakeholders
  • High regard for detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work extended hours as required

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in digital, power, renewables, or other infrastructure / project finance transactions
  • Familiarity with rating agency processes, syndication, and debt capital markets execution

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and/or leading the day-to-day execution of project finance and advisory mandates, including managing timelines, deliverables, and workstream sequencing from mandate through closing
  • Coordinating workflow across internal teams (coverage partners, product partners, syndications, corporate banking) and external service providers (legal counsel, rating agencies, independent engineers, insurance advisors, environmental consultants)
  • Determining task sequencing and allocating assignments to analysts and junior associates on deal teams; establishing clear deliverable expectations and deadlines
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on work product prepared by junior team members, including financial analysis, due diligence summaries, credit risk assessments, project summaries, rating report summaries, and market alternatives
  • Overseeing the preparation and refinement of client presentations, information memoranda, and financing documentation
  • Serving as a primary point of contact for clients on day-to-day transaction matters, managing expectations and communicating progress on workstreams
  • Interfacing directly with counterparties including lenders, rating agencies, and advisors to advance transaction execution
  • Directing financial model analysis, debt sizing, and structuring work performed by junior resources; reviewing summary outputs and guiding refinements to assumptions and structure
  • Reviewing independent engineer reports, market studies, and other third-party diligence materials to identify credit risks, key assumptions, and issues for escalation
  • Synthesizing complex project and financial information into clear recommendations for senior bankers and clients
  • Supporting senior bankers in the pursuit of new business opportunities, including reviewing client-provided materials, evaluating transaction feasibility, and participating in client meetings and presentations
  • Overseeing the development of pitch materials and responses to RFPs/RFIs
  • Assisting in the negotiation of scope of services and associated fee arrangements
  • Mentoring and developing analysts and junior associates, including providing day-to-day guidance, answering questions, and facilitating training opportunities
  • Planning the staffing of junior team members across active transactions and managing resource allocation in coordination with senior bankers
  • Supporting the development and dissemination of revenue budgets, forecasts, and pipeline reporting
