LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate all that this city and country have to offer, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners and our community. The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. The Senior Associate, Village Mobility is responsible for supporting the planning, design, and implementation of internal transportation, pedestrian flow, and mobility operations within the Olympic and Paralympic Village. This role addresses the unique operational and topographical challenges of the Village environment to ensure safe, efficient, accessible, and inclusive movement for athletes, officials, workforce, and stakeholders. Supports the development of integrated Games time mobility solutions, balancing operational efficiency, accessibility, safety, and user experience. This role reports to Manager Mobility Operations Village and the Director of Projects and Facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in transportation planning, urban planning, civil engineering, operations management, event management, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated project management experience is required, including planning, task tracking, schedule coordination, and cross functional follow-up within complex or multi stakeholder environments.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in transportation operations, mobility planning, pedestrian flow planning, venue operations, infrastructure projects, large-scale events, or related operational fields.
  • Experience using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or similar) is required, with the ability to draft, review, and update maps, layouts, or operational drawings; experience producing mobility, circulation, or wayfinding maps is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with project management, planning, or mapping tools is a plus.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to address operational and mobility challenges.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with cross‑functional partners, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.
  • Applies sound judgment with attention to detail, safety, and accessibility considerations.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team‑based environment.
  • Shows a strong commitment to LA28 values, including inclusion, integrity, collaboration, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and refinement of the internal transportation and mobility plan for the Olympic and Paralympic Village, accounting for site topography, operational requirements, and user needs.
  • Manage the process for evaluating and recommending appropriate internal transportation modes (e.g., micro‑mobility, shuttle operations, service vehicles), ensuring alignment with safety, accessibility, and sustainability goals.
  • Contribute to the design and optimization of pedestrian flow strategies across multi‑level, high‑density, and sloped environments to minimize congestion and enhance user experience.
  • Coordinate internal Village operational flows in support of service delivery, logistics, functional areas, and daily operations.
  • Support the development of signage, wayfinding, and mobility‑related communications to ensure clarity and ease of navigation for all users.
  • Coordinate, implement, and support the management of micro‑mobility programs within the Village.
  • Participate in readiness planning, including simulations, tabletop exercises, walkthroughs, and operational testing of mobility systems and procedures.
  • Lead program management activities related to mobility including task tracking, schedule coordination, and cross‑functional follow‑ups.
  • Manage the internal mobility planning and operations knowledge transfer and Games‑time handover.
  • Contribute to Games‑time operations as required, with responsibilities evolving as the event approaches.

Benefits

  • The annual base salary range for this position is $73,000 - $95,000.
  • LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
